Our Story

Hi, I’m Helen, the Founder and Principal here at Cap Coast Home Loans.

I was born in the Queensland countryside town of Toowoomba. In the year 1988, at the tender age of around 20, I made a life-altering decision to embark on a journey across Australia, with my inaugural stop being right here in Yeppoon. Our plans changed after a short 12-month stay, but destiny had different plans, and Yeppoon remains our beloved home to this day!

After a brief stint working with Tanby Foods, a seafood processing plant, and distributor, I took a significant turn in my career and transitioned into a customer service role at our local Westpac Banking Branch. Fueled by an unwavering commitment to delivering quality service, I honed my skills in the Retail Finance Sector at Westpac Yeppoon.

Somewhere in between, I had 2 amazing kids. Now young adults, they are fully aware of how fortunate they were to enjoy their formative years growing up in Yeppoon, Great Keppel Island, and the surrounding Great Barrier Reef destinations. Needless to say, both of them are happy to call the Capricorn Coast home today.

Within five years, I managed to work my way up to becoming one of the top three professionals in Queensland at Westpac. Some years later, after bidding farewell to Westpac, I embarked on a brief stint with Yellow Brick Road Mortgage Broking. After just 12 months, I seized the opportunity to establish my very own business, which I aptly named Cap Coast Home Loans!

Today, I lead a team of 5 and an affiliated real estate business which my daughter, Georgia, is running, called Prestige Property Yeppoon. In 2022, a passing comment by a customer sparked it all:

“Thanks so much for your help, I only wish I could have purchased my house through you as well!”
